Quite a bit going on!

I had a number of things I think I was going to post about over the course of the last week but I have obviously not. I don't even remember what we went on this week. We had friends over to play on Thursday. Thursday night I went to sorority city council and was vote VP for the board. This is the service focused group that I have been a member of since 2007 and my mom has been since I was 3. So it has been fun to follow in her steps of sorts and partake in that organization. The VP position should be manageable but I am going to try and get something together for membership for all the chapters. I don't know if they will be interested but at least I can say I did something then.

Yesterday we had the Diapers for Beer baby shower that I had been looking forward to for a while. Mostly because it was a chance to associate with other adults and secondly because it was my good excuse to use someone as a guinea pig and make some cute things in the baby department. I was really happy with everything and am definitely going to make a few of them for the craft fair. Note to self: START MAKING THINGS FOR THE CRAFT FAIR. Anyway the diapers and beer thing is a brilliant idea for a baby shower. They filled the entire crib and then some with diapers of all sizes. They are SET. We took the kids with us because it was requested so the new daddy can see what they were in for. They're in for it. They are having a girl though so maybe she will be more tame like Lilly was. Edison is just a boy and wouldn't sit still for anything.

On that note, yesterday we also went to an Easter egg hunt that a local church sponsored. It was fun and a good test run for any other ones we go to this weekend. It was misty outside which kept some people away I think because it wasn't overly crowded. It was also nice because my kids didn't get trampled. Edison just wanted to run. He could care less about any eggs. He was going straight for the parking lot/street too. UGH. I grabbed three eggs for him in m efforts to get him to pay attention to said hunt. He was crabby yesterday in genera. I think because after the hunt there were games inside and he was just not having it. We did each of the games for Lilly and tried the cake walk once then left. Lilly managed to scoop up 16 eggs for herself. She was taking her time though and shaking each egg after she picked it up to make sure there was something in it. My dad said there is a hunt at the gun range he goes to on April 7 so I think we are going to go ahead and do that one with him. It will be smaller than the one at the park we usually go to (with around a 500-1000 kids showing up).

I weighed myself this morning fully expecting to have gained weight because I didn't go to the gym Friday or last night and I didn't think I ate fantastically but to my surprise I lost another 1.8 pounds. Down to 187.6. I'm kind of amazed. I mean I REALLY did not think I was going to lose anything. I am on track to meet my goal on Easter morning. Just 2.6 pounds for that. Then I can set a new short term goal to eventually get down to 165-160 that I am aiming for. Obviously I would like to be less but I don't want to be unrealistic and just end up mad and going the opposite direction. When I make the 165 I will keep trying or not go overboard and start pigging out or anything. I just want to hit something that I can be happy with and maintain. If I lose a ton of weight and get down to something really low I know I will have a harder time keeping it off in the long run. Then I would just be depressed and worse off. OH I should mentioned too that at the gym I have been consistently running. I never run less than 1.5 miles and usually I make it to 2 or more. Sometimes I run 1.5 and then walk at the high incline then run more but I am still RUNNING. Okay, probably more like jogging. Still it's not walking! I don't even think I could go back to just walking. I am amazed since, you know, I'm not a runner :)  I'm even considering a 5K. I know... compose yourselves people... it IS a shock. We'll see.
