So two months ago I could not run for 30 seconds without getting winded [seriously]. I have been working on it and getting better at running and tonight I ran for 30 MINUTES. I run at a pretty slow pace so really it is more of a jog, but give me some credit here. My 30 minute run equates to 2.5 miles. I'm pretty excited because this really is an accomplishment for me. Of course it seems that everytime I post something it is an accomplishment. I guess that happens when you haven't really tried before. I really am thinking of signing up for a 5k. The only problem I have with it is that I really am comfortable on the treadmill and would need to work on running outside and trying to pace myself. To do that I would need to actually run outside which I would struggle with since I am paying for it.
So in weirdly exciting mommy news... I am on this facebook for sale site. It is kindof like craigslist but for facebook. I have sold a few things and bought a few things that were REALLY good deals. (one was a Luna Lullaby Nursing Pillow for $15 and they retail for $60-$100). It's bigger and more comfortable. Hey, I still hold my son before bed, I dont need to be nursing to use a nursing pillow! So back to awesomeness. There was a woman looking for 2t/3t girls underwear because she is potty training her daughter and apparently didnt want to pay full price. We recently put Lilly in 4t undies even though she still fits in the 2/3t (kindof). I thought, hey, why not. I cleaned them really well and told the person I had some if she was interested. Now, this is where my child is strange. She really has separation anxiety with things and wanted to keep her blues clues undies after I had already told the lady they were included. So being the nice mommy that I am I told her that I had to keep that pair. She understood and tomorrow I am going to be $5.50 richer for 18 pair of undies. I would like to point out they cost me $25. INSANE. BUT children's underwear doesn't exactly sell well at garage sales because, gee, weirdly enough people don't want to buy secondhand. Someone is also coming to look at/buy a 12 inch bike I had gotten for Lilly last year but then found a better one. I will technically be losing $5 on it, but I'd rather just have it gone!
Hey Erica! I love reading your blog and you are inspiring me to get moving and work on losing weight. Running 2.5 miles is an accomplishment!! Be proud! I have a gym at work I could use for free but I never do because I am busy working but I don't want to pay for a gym member ship since I get that for free. So I just don't end up doing anything. Keep up the good work! ~Adrienne
ReplyDeleteErica~ I love reading your blog. What a running accomplishment! Sounds like things are on roll. :) ~Dani
ReplyDeleteWay To Go!! You might see if Mickala is doing one, I think I remember hearding she might be doing one, that'd be great. If you do begin training and sign up for one, do note running on a treadmill is a LOT different than running on ground and pushing yourself. You could use the High Court track and begin that way.
