Improvements all around!

Last night was exciting and frustrating all at the same time. I went to the gym and was loving that there were only two other ladies there. Even though I go and deal with a crowd I don't like an audience while at the gym. Okay, so I know that sounds very conceited of me. I know that not a single other person cares or is paying any attention to what I am doing at the gym. I still don't like it. Anyway, I was running at my typical 5 pace that makes for a 12 minute mile and realized that I wasn't terribly winded once I reached the first mile. I decided that as long as I wasn't killing myself I may as well keep going. I set a new goal of 15 minutes. Once I hit that and was still fine I started trying to do math, which is not my strong suit, and finally settled on 18 minutes or 1.5 miles. I honestly think I could have kept going! How crazy is that! I am way pumped about this. So that was the exciting part. The really frustrating thing is that when I looked down at my feet I noticed two little white dots on the toes of my shoes (the top where my big toe hits that is). Those little white dots? My socks peaking through. Dude! I bought those nice sparkly shoes on Jan. 7 this year. HOW is it possible for them to have holes in the top already? I am SO mad about this. I haven't decided what the best approach is. Contact Brooks and ask what is up with some hope that they will be nice and replace them? I didn't have the money to get those let alone new ones already. The tread is fine on them even. I have only ever used them on the treadmill and most of it has been for walking. I figure at absolute most they have 180 miles on them.

Other improvements are my weight. All that running must have finally done something or gotten me over whatever hump I hit because I weighed in 3.7 pounds less this morning. 190.9 now. I am strongly debating rewarding myself with a pedicure when I hit that 190. I should do it for 185 which is my goal for this time next month.... but you know... I haven't really rewarded myself yet. I just don't know. We'll see. I guess it depends on if I have the funds available to splurge like that on myself.

Paco went back to work last night at 10 so I decided it was prime ME time to get some sewing done. I have a baby shower in a couple of weeks and wanted to make things for that. Technically I don't even know for sure if we are supposed to bring a gift because it is a 'diapers and beer' shower. It is for couples so the guys will be downstairs with beer and I imagine ladies elsewhere. Or maybe we all congregate together. Regardless the gift of choice is diapers, which I also got. I'll be honest, it's a great excuse for me to use them as a guinea pig for some sewing possibilities. I am happy with the results of my work too! I think I will definitely be making some bibs to sell at the craft fair. It uses minimal fabric and is super easy. I can get two bibs out of a fat quarter or I think it was 5 out of a half yard but I would be wrong on that. I will say what everything else is in a couple of weeks and post the pictures. Tooting my own horn: They are all SUPER CUTE! Nothing super special either though. Oh well.

And now I have to laugh. Paco wanted to know where my mini hammer went because it wasn't in the closet. I told him it was in my purse because I had used it to help mom assemble her office filing cabinet. He started looking and couldn't find it. I said it was at the bottom. Still searching. Seriously, just at the bottom of the purse. Now if you can imagine Mary Poppins here I would guess this is what he was feeling reaching into my purse and coming up empty. He finally took 3 other things out and found the hammer. He said my purse was an abyss. The funny thing is that it really isn't even that big or that full. Just proves why men don't use purses. They cant navigate them properly.

The kids have even been pretty well behaved and happy late.y. Yesterday Edison was in a bad mood because for the second day in a row he got woken up abruptly before he wanted to. The first day Lilly jumped on the bed which made Bailey let out a sharp bark which in turn startled Edison to wake. Yesterday morning Lilly started crying because Grammy wasn't here anymore (she had watched her Friday night). Her crying was loud enough to wake Edison. That kid is just like his father. Little sleep = GRUMPY.

Hopefully with the gorgeous weather we will have this week we can find some really fun springy activities to do!
