I wish I could say that I have just been so busy I cant possibly find the time to do anything, especially sit here and blog but alas it just isn't so. Well, okay, I have been busy. I just don't think that is a good excuse for neglecting my updating. But, let's face it, I don't exactly have much of a following so I apologize to the 11 of you. :-)
I last posted on the 14th that I had lost 8.5 pounds. I am so excited and proud of myself because I have actually kept up with an eating and quasi fitness routine. I got completely fed up and disgusted with myself (finally) back in May and my official start date for life changing eating and whatnot was the 24th. I am now down 14 pounds. I am keeping a really good consistent AND SAFE schedule. woo hoo! I am completely on track to lose my first goal weight of 20 pounds by July 22, a two month loss time. The most exciting thing is that all I have done is just truly watch what I eat. I have been counting those calories and it has been easy to stay within my limits. I am loving Loseit! for keeping track of everything. I have also been walking just about every night. I did 4 miles one day but never less than 2. Luckily I can get this in easily by just walking over to my moms! Last night, dare I say it, I even... RAN. holy crap I think Hell just froze over. I did a C25K style but instead of timing it I just ran for 4 houses, then walked for 4, ran for 4, etc. Oh, and by the way, yes I DID do this in the still 87 degree 75 dew point weather. yeah. It was a tad hot. Poor Bailey. I am going to start doing the 200 Sit ups program because I just don't see the whole 14 pound loss anywhere on me. We'll see how that goes. I am so determined.
In other non-get-off-my-fat-ass-and-lose-all-of-this-ridiculous-chub news, I have been trying to get the house cleaned, porch painted, and crafty things made. I made a skirt for myself so I have some slightly classier looking clothes. It turned out GREAT. I am the happiest with the hem because it looks all professional. I will post a picture of it when I take one.
For sorority city picnic the other night I made one of my cherry pies with a from scratch crust for the pie contest they had. It was the biggest let down ever because they announced the participants (name not called) then 2nd, 1st prizes.. name still not called. So my whole table is getting all excited because it can only mean one thing, that I won grand prize. Then they announced the winner! A rhubarb pie. Crap, what! I went ahead and mentioned not being called just because I at least wanted my ribbon and as it turns out I won honorable mention and a prize. So I got honorable mention but was never mentioned. humph. Oh well, I got a pretty crystal vase and promptly cut some lillies to put in it.
Speaking of the cherries. I went and picked mine and my neighbors from our respective trees last week. Only yielded 3 quarts. boo. There were just so many with worms this year. yuck. A number of them were damaged from what I can only guess was the late frost we had after there were already blossoms on the tree. Still, 3 quarts is 3 quarts and I will put them to good work. I may do a post on that too. I took pictures of the pitting process.
Pretty much the past few weeks have made me feel all Becky home-ecky and Suzy homemaker. Which is just fine with me because it is what I studied in college for one thing (sad?) and it is my job as a stay at home mom and wife!
I should stop now and do shorter more frequent posts so people don't get bored with my forever long ones!
oh, but p.s. SO excited and unbelievably happy for my friend Krystal who got engaged over last weekend. YAY!!!
