stepping it up

So... everyone needs to sit down. Okay, got a seat? Ready? I RAN 8 MINUTES ON THE TREADMILL LAST NIGHT. Then... I did it again tonight and THEN I ran another 5 tonight. This is, like.. consecutive, all in a row, no stopping, 8 full minutes of running. So I realize this is like, 'woo', to most people but it is a big deal for me. I. Am. NOT. a. runner. I realize that most people can also probably walk at a faster pace than I was running (4.9 on the treadmill) but still, it is big for me so it is a win. I am going to keep working on this because it's not like I want or need to be a runner, but it is nice to know I wont die if I need to.

So here is a question in case I have any other runner friends besides Panda (well, and the question is for Panda too :) but I noticed I burn about the same amount of calories walking at a high incline for 45 minutes as I do walking and then doing about 2/3-1 mile of low incline running. Is there a benefit to the running over the fast walking on a high incline? I did notice that the walking works the back of my thighs and lower butt more and the running definitely works more my inner and top thighs. I guess we shall see if there is a difference in a week or two. I really want to work harder and see a difference here because I want to stay on track and see results.

I need to try to think of some fun activities for the kids for the next couple of days. We are going to have some friends over for a play date on Thursday. Hopefully everyone can make it but even if it is just a couple kids it will be fun! This weekend Paco probably has to go into work but I am hell bent on getting some sewing done. I have to go to Hancock because they have zippers for half off and there are some things I have been wanting to try that require zippers. I WILL make at least 2 items I have had on the back burner but I probably wont post picture until later because they are a gift for someone.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my exciting exercise news even if it really isn't that awesome. yeah.
