Anyway to normal life. I was so busy this weekend. I don't even feel like I had a weekend. Saturday I cleaned the kitchen while Paco assembled a new cart we got for the kitchen to try and clean it up a bit. The problem with our kitchen is that we have an "Eat in" area in the corner. It is the most useless thing ever There is absolutely no room for a dining table in there and what is the point when we have a formal dining room. Anyway we got it all put together and I just couldn't be happier. It makes the kitchen look cleaner. It provides some much needed storage space. AND it provides a new counter to work on and prep food or just place things to be out of the way while I prep food on the counters. I have before and after pictures that I will post when I get a chance to upload them.
Later on Saturday I had to go help assemble phone books for delivery today with my sorority chapter. It wasn't terrible but I had to leave after an hour and a half. It was definitely a work out as I helped carry totes full of phone books. They easily weighed 50 pounds a piece. After that I had to run to the store to grab some things for an impromptu dinner party we had decided to throw with 3 of our friends/Paco's co-workers. It was such a great time! We made spaghetti with homemade spaghetti sauce and homemade meatballs AND homemade from scratch ciabatta. Paco has been in a huge bread making frenzy as of late so he likes to show it off. It is really tasty too and he turned this loaf into garlic bread. Unbelievable garlic bread.
Today I delivered the phone books which took about 3.5 hours and LOTS of walking. Even though I walked an entire neighborhood which totaled around 3+ miles I still went to the gym tonight and did another 2.3 miles on the 5 incline treadmill.
Edison did the funniest thing this afternoon too. He was CRABBY. He had eaten, was changed and just still not happy. I don't give the kid credit for what he comprehends since he doesn't do a lot of talking but today I realized he gets a lot more than I realize. When he was crying and rubbing his eyes I asked if he wanted to take a nap. He stopped instantly looked at me and said what sounded like YEAH! He had completely stopped crying and as I picked him up and walked him to his room he kind of pointed down the hallway. I put him in bed, gave him his frog and blanket, and he went to sleep for an hour and a half. I was stunned. He always goes down really well for naps, but he doesn't usually ASK for them. Love that kid.
The other one was a little more of a challenge today. She has one heck of a stubborn streak and today she was on the verge of losing all sorts of privileges. We really do have to sit down and talk about a more structured discipline schedule because I think she needs it. As it was she went to bed with no stories and a very bad temper.
oy. This weekend has caught up with me so I must get some sleep. I took a fall earlier after we were done with the phone books and hit my hip and arm HARD so although I dont bruise that easily it is sore sore sore and I am sure tomorrow will be rough. Add that to the heavy lifting both yesterday and today and I am sure I will be moving a bit slower tomorrow.
