As one of my good friends said "There is never a dull moment in the household". This is SO true. Yesterday I managed to get the 3 season porch joists sanded so I can go back in and paint the whole ceiling with Killz. (If you are just joining me.. LONG story with the
Yesterday we also had to break down and get new tires for Paco's car. When he got back from his week-long business trip he arrived at his car in the airport parking lot and had virtually no air in one of his back tires. The others were all low. ugh. Cant catch a break apparently. At least I know he is safer. We are worried though that the idiots over at Sam's club back in the day screwed up the rims. He thought the front tires already look a little lower. I'm hoping he is just paranoid. It wasn't worth it to put the tires on, let alone get new rims.
Since the weather was gorgeous we took a nice family walk to the park at the school in our neighborhood. It was wonderful and Lilly had a great time getting out and playing. I think Edison enjoyed the fresh air too! He is still having issues with reflux or being unsettled so I am taking the little man to the doctor again to get checked. He just gets so upset for so long and then he starts gagging/coughing. It takes completely wearing himself out before he will settle enough to eat. At other times he is just fine and downs a whole bottle no problem. He also has a rash on his chest and arm that I wonder about.
I started getting the garden prepped for planting a well yesterday. I cant decide what I want to plant this year. I think I will nix the broccoli because it takes up so much space. I will definitely d 4 tomatoes, but a different variety than usual. I also plan to do my typical 9 pepper plants. Those are outrageously expensive now so I will get a ton and freeze them like usual. Super excited for peppers! I was thinking maybe a potato mound, but again with the space. I'll take suggestions.
So the big excitement for the weekend, besides getting some stuff accomplished, was Bailey. Thursday I got her teeth cleaned at the vet. Today she was outside barking at a crow and getting all worked up. I called her to come back in and from across the yard noticed her mouth was BRIGHT red. First thought:"Oh great, what the heck did she get?!?!". Once she got closer the only thought I had was "OH MY GOD BAILEY!!! WHAT DID YOU DO WHAT DID YOU DO WHAT HAPPENED?" Pretty much that frantic. So frantic actually that my poor child started crying because she was worried for her poor puppy who was bleeding profusely from the mouth. I managed to get a quick glance to see that one of her teeth had been ripped out from the socket. So, what DO you do for a dog that has a tooth ripped out???? She kept licking and trying to get the tooth out. She succeeded and I found the tooth on the floor. Lilly was still frantic because I was dumb and overreacted but in the middle of the chaos she blurted out very enthusiastically "HEY! Now the tooth fairy can come!". Oh to be 3 again. This was all happening while Paco was at the store by the way. I had no backup and no idea what to do. In all honesty he probably would have passed out from the blood splattering on Bailey's nose. How do dogs do that anyway? I called mom and she probably thought someone was dying. Sorry! She came over just as Paco had gotten home and Bailey was calming down. I called the emergency vet and they said there is nothing we could do unless we wanted to bring her in to get looked at. Otherwise I need to take her in tomorrow to be evaluated for possible antibiotics to avoid dry socket and maybe (hopefully not) pack and suture the hole. OY. Oh, and I totally saved the tooth, Mostly to take to the vet so they can see that, yes, the whole tooth AND root did come out. but otherwise I have a nice clean Bailey tooth for posterity.
Nope, never a dull day.
