this and that

I have been thinking of various topics to actually write about all week long. It’s just that it is always a time when I don’t have a piece of paper to jot them down or the computer in front of me to just type. So we’ll do an abbreviated bullet point style post of my random thoughts of the week. (yeah right, I cant abbreviate anything, Paco gets more frustrated with my dawdling and drawn out stories that he just shuts me out I think).

let’s see. First and foremost…

~GIVE ME A BREAK! We start talking about re-doing the deck and foundation repair because it is absolutely essential. No sooner do I get the plans (at least the basic shape and dimensions) drawn out but the furnace starts making a high pitched ringing noise. I am sure I have some “things are going to blow up and the house is going to burn down spontaneously” phobia so I called Paco and emailed my dad. Paco brought a new filter home and flipped the manual shut off switch since the thermostat OFF switch wasn’t actually turning it off.. problem? After 3 hours, managing to get the noise to go away but no heat and lots of attempts and unplugging/detaching my dad was stumped. We resigned to the fact that we were going to be cold for a night and I would have to call a professional in the morning. Lo and behold at 11pm Paco went in search of our forgotten space heater and decided to try turning it on. It worked. It regulated and actually heated. the high pitched noise came back, but dad assured me it isnt going to blow. so I think I will let it runs its course. Dad looked up a possible replacement part but it will cost $300!!! GEEZ! I can only imagine how much a company would charge then. Yeah, we’ll wait. Even though dad said we were probably on borrowed time.

~I got my WeeTail stuff priced out. I am sure I have too much on some things. I know that I wouldn’t ever get that much at a garage sale, not unless I live in a super ritzy house at which point Im probably not even bothering with a garage sale anyway. But it is technically a consignment sale. The woman running it gets a 35% cut so I need to price accordingly. I figure if I am going to end up with a payout that would be the same as a garage sale why the heck bother with weetail, I’d just do the garage sale. So we’ll see how much I get out of it. I realized 2 things (that I already knew, but really gets put into perspective when you see it all at once). 1. Lilly has SO MANY clothes. 2. They are so frickin’ cute that I can hardly part with them. okay, 3. I did DAMN good at garage sales acquiring them for her. and 4. Edison already has more clothes for the 0-3 month ages than Lilly did. crap. oh and 5. I am going to make BANK when I can have my full blown baby sale. It kindof saddens me to get rid of Lilly’s before I can do this, but let’s face it, I live in a split foyer and have virtually no storage space. And let’s refer back to the “Edison already has more clothes” comment. I need the space!

~Paco is working on getting a passport through work. He is 90% probably going to FRANCE in October for work. bastard. So we just need to come up with $1100 for a plane ticket and $x.xx for food and I can go too. The hotel would becovered since Paco will already be in it and work pays for that. Now accepting donations for the “get Erica out of the country fund”. I did, afterall, take french in high school. Not that I remember any of it. BUT I have the “learn French” game for my neglected Nintendo DS. I would be awesome walking around with that trying to translate.

~As promised, here is a picture of the wine charms my beta sigma phi chapter is working on toraise money for CASA. These are 12 I made. the girls liked them which is awesome and we are probably going to get more wire to make additional ones to post on facebook and try to sell to friends or wherever.

~I use windows live writer to do these and I hate the picture formatting. I was an editor for my high school newspaper so I am a big fan of layout and I cant stand that I cant get it to layout the way I want… must remedy this, any suggestions?

~I am determined to get the sewing machine out this weekend and work on projects.

~Paco is probably going on business travel next week so I have my first real experience as a ‘single mom of 2’ God help me.

~I might start a weekly segment for my blog. Every Friday I will do this. I am still working on a cute name AND an actual topic for this week so you might just be lucky enough to get another dose of the awesomeness (boring) life we live!

~I really need a camera on Lilly 24/7. that or a pad of paper to jot everything she says. I will try and remember some gems.
