Like the crazy lady I pride myself to be I decided a week and a half ago to go ahead and have a garage sale starting last Wednesday. I am really glad I did! I pulled stuff together and ended up not paying for advertising since the Penny Saver is dumb but sold $200 worth of Lilly clothes and other crap! YAY! I am finally at a point where I have really come to the realization that I cannot save her clothes and they are taking up way too much space. The thing is I refuse to be a good Samaritan and just give it away. Yes, I am terrible, but I am also poor and her stuff is GOOD quality name brand clothes. I spent all of last night un-tagging the remaining fall/winter clothes, photographing them, and writing up descriptions so Paco can put them on his work intranet buy sell trade board. If I sell everything it will be another $165. SO, that would be pretty sweet.

That was a pretty great way to start the weekend but then we had Edison's FIRST BIRTHDAY parties! WOO! I just cannot believe my little 2 pound 2 ounce 10 week premature baby boy is already one year old. He is amazes me everyday. We had my moms family and our friends over on Saturday. We, of course, got the best birthday present ever.. IOWA STATE BEAT IOWA! Man, that was just the best thing for Edison's party. It was so much fun to have Iowa and Iowa State fans watching the game. The pants that Mark got are the real reason we won :-)

We grilled and sat around opening presents and visiting. On Sunday we did the same thing with my dad and step-moms family.
Both parties were nothing fancy, but it was a lot of fun to have everyone over. For Edison's cake I decided to make cupcakes. I made a bigger one in a ramekin for him to dig into. Edison did a pretty good job digging into his cake. Some of it made it into his mouth so maybe he will think food is awesome and eat better.
I cant even believe how much Edison has grown. I need to edit the original picture of him and the dollar bill so it is side by side with this new one that I took. Such a difference!
Today Edison had his one year check and weighed in at 18 pounds 2 ounces. That is 1 1/4 pounds more than Lilly weighed at her one year check. Edison is Awesome. He i still in the 1 percentile for weight and height but 11th percentile for head circumference. Yeah, he's all brains. He also did great at OT today and then eating at home. He had an entire jar of baby food AND wanted to eat some puffs all on his own! It is really a lot of small battles, but that is how you win the war so we will take it.
In other news I FINALLY got back to my walk tonight. I don't know how I lost motivation but I did and I just feel like crap for it. I hate that. With colder weather moving in I need to take advantage of any walking I can do while I still can. I cant afford nor do I have the space for a treadmill even though I would love one so I really really need to do my walking now. I also need to get back to counting every little thing that goes in the mouth. It's not like I have gained back all of the 23 pounds I lost but I am sure I am maybe up a little bit again. It is amazing how quickly I can feel it too. How was I managing being those 23 pounds heavier??? I still would like to lose another 20-25 pounds by Christmas. I know I can do it, I just need to stay motivated and accountable.
