MinnEsotAhhhhh

Minnesota was a great time. It was nice to get away from home and let the kids spend time with anyone besides me. Hey, this isn't because I don't want to be around them, but you know.. they can benefit from a break from me! Besides there never really was a break from me anyway, it is a pretty small cabin.

The weather was gorgeous the whole time we were there. Oh, I should mention that our 7 hour drive definitely turns into 9 when we have a potty trained three and a half year old and near one year old that gets very angry if he doesn't eat right when he has decided he wants to eat. It goes surprisingly faster than one would think.

While we were there we got to go out on the boat which Lilly LOVED. She wanted to go all the time. She would wake up in the morning and first thing she would say "we're going on the boat now?" This was while she was still in her pajamas. Poor kid. I think we only went on the three boat rides, but it was fantastic.

While on one of the rides we went over to one of the islands on the lake and tossed the anchor so we could swim off the pontoon. Lilly was a tough sell but we eventually got her in the water. We also got Edison in the water. We need a better little raft thing because the one we had didn't work that great but he loved the water. He was happy to just chill there and float around.

I got a fantastic tan from the lake because I was outside everyday and out in the sun on the boat for 3. It is awesome because it didn't even peel. I am bummed because it has totally faded a bit. It's okay because the kids and I are probably going back up in a couple of weeks here. Paco cant go since he has to work, imagine that..

Another fun thing that I wanted to achieve while at the lake is to learn to knit. It's not that I have always wanted to knit but I do think it would be a fun and useful skill to know. Just think, if we have a zombie Apocalypse or some huge natural disaster that wipes out a power grid so we have nothing as long as I can find some yarn, then I can knit blankets or whatever! My grandma taught me how to knit and purl and I am getting better at it. I actually picked it up faster and easier than I thought I would manage so that is exciting. The other thing that I really love about it is now I can say my grandmother taught me how to knit. She had such patience and we had a couple of really good laughs over my, umm, progress... I was adding stitches and she couldn't even figure out how or what  I was doing. The next time we are up there I will learn more! yay!

I guess I don't know what else to really say about the lake. I am too conditioned to it being THE lake so I don't know what is noteworthy. I'll think about it I guess and just post a few fun pictures. I need to get a bunch from my moms camera still as well.
