Motivation

Or lack thereof… SO… eh, not sure where to start or what to say really. I am feeling rather blah-ish apparently.

Not much news going on either. One thing we did was get Edison baptized! On Saturday we were invited to a wedding in Cedar Falls. My brother in law was the best man so he and his wife were in town from California for that. My parents-in-law also came to town from Nebraska for the occasion. I decided that since all the extra family was going to be around anyway we may as well go ahead and set up the baptism for Sunday so they could save a trip. It was during the 11 am service. I had never been to it as it is the “impact” service. Yeah.. kind of what it sounds like. It is for the hippies! I suppose it didn’t differ too much from the “contemporary” service that I attend. The main difference is that at no time in the service did they say the Lord’s prayer. The graphics (yes I said graphics… our church is set up more like  a movie theater than a church). Anyway.. the graphics for the video during the songs were a little trippier than the contemporary service I think too. Plus I'm not entirely sure if it was just a stroke of bad luck or if the usual pastors never do the 11am service but I had never met the pastor that did the baptism and the guy that did the service seemed new too. Regardless it was nice and so happy for the family and friends that made it. Turns out the baptismal font had water that was brought back straight from the Jordan River. It didn’t have to be blessed (although I'm sure it still was) because it was straight from the source! The pastor really doused the poor kid too, so he is nice and.. saved I guess. You can tell how much background I have in my religion I am sure. It stems from an atheist father, I never learned it. So really I should join a bible study group.

Let’s see. I have a number of projects that I am/need to work on. One entails a lot of sewing so I really need to get my sewing machine serviced. It is the most fantastic sewing machine ever. It was my father in laws that he got from his mom so it is from 1974 I believe. drool. I love old sewing machines. There is something about a big chunk of metal to house a motorized needle that makes you just know you have quality. I have a few months to work on a couple of the projects but I have others I have wanted to do for almost a year now. I don’t think I will ever find the time. I also have more crafty projects/ideas that I SHOULD work on since I, for whatever reason, decided to take them up as a hobby in the first place. Jewelry/bead crafting. It’s not something I recommend if you are poor like me. You need and want a ton of stuff but darn it is expensive to start a new hobby!

Another project I have is technically one that needs to wait anyway. I am in a social service sorority. This year we are in charge of the state service project where all the chapters in the state make a donation to the selected organization (CASA, my idea).  Our chapter was looking for a way to make some more money for the chapter that then gets donated to the service  quadrant of our funds and a wine basket was brought up. To fit the theme I mentioned an idea from my awesomely amazing friend Stork... okay Stoltz technically now. She did homemade recycled wine charms. The girls thought this was a decent idea so I went to Michaels and got the materials. We aren’t doing recycled as I don’t think I would ever come up with enough stuff. But the 1.35 pound container of beads I got was only $3.00 with trusty Michaels coupon. Sometime soon I’ll post a picture of the ‘sample’ charms I have done.

Other than crafty things I should be doing I should also be doing chores and laundry. yeah, I’ll get there I guess. Oh and I am thinking of joining inches-a-weigh again. I did that in college and lost 15 pounds and 14 inches in 3 months. If I sign up now I get 1o free infrared body wraps. Not entirely sure what those are but I like the word FREE in front of anything so you know, bonus! I desperately need to lose a lot of weight so it might be worth it and I might be able to stick with it better since it is lower impact. Plus, I know it works as long as I am diligent enough to cut out most treats and do portion control.
