As of Friday I was on the metformin for 2 weeks and am now at 2 500mg pills per day. As of yesterday I had been doing my wii workouts for 1 week. Happily according to that I actually lost 2 pounds in that week. 2 pounds doesn't seem like much but it is exactly what you are supposed to lose per week to maintain a healthy and hopefully permanent loss. So I am extremely happy with it. If I manage 2 pounds per week until I start Farrell's on the 27th then I'll have lost 8 pounds before even starting. I have decided 5-8 pounds should be my goal then for weight loss by the 27th of the month. It is an entirely achievable and practical goal to have. Keep in mind the Arby's I had yesterday probably doesn't help that goal.. but I don't plan on eating out again, at least not a lot.
I really love the wii and its workout capabilities. I bought Just Dance with some birthday money and then the wii fit was a gift from my brother. (the wii was a present from my in-laws). So all around we are blessed to have people give us such nice gifts. I can't remember if I mentioned it before but Just Dance seriously is a workout. So many of the moves are just aerobic exercise moves. I throw a major kudos to Nintendo for getting people to workout without making them think it is really exercise. I do wish I had a treadmill though. Since we'll be freeing up a room with mark moving out I would actually have somewhere to put it. So I may put a want ad on freecycle.
I am actually just proud of myself for being diligent enough to do the wii exercises consistently this week. I have decided I need to so that I don't keel over on my first day of Farrell's. I have gotten a lot of positive response from mentioning my signing up. Some people said they tried it and loved it. Others said they wish they could do it. Yet another friend said she thought it was great but to be careful because she very recently needed knee surgery; a direct result of farrell's. So I appreciate the warning, I will definitely be careful.
In an entirely me unrelated topic... I was watching Pawn Stars on the history channel. I must be very unique because I just shudder every time people come in trying to sell some things. Not creepy things, although there is plenty of that. But there are people that come in with some amazing piece of family history and they find out it is worth upwards of $8000. Then they decide to sell it (for half of that because the pawn people have to make a profit). Is the money really worth it? It pains me. But I have also been known to keep EVERYTHING because of some sentimental value.
