Disappointment

I remember a time when I was really good at updating blogs. I suppose I didn't have a house to keep and kid to watch though and that does make a difference!

Well I think the Metformin settled itself down after I got up to the right dosage and had been taking it for a while longer. Eggs aren't awful anymore so that is exciting! I am still too fearful to try a heaping salad though. I haven't really noticed a dramatic weight loss either so it looks as though maybe I fall into the small percentage of women who doesn't get that bonus side effect. major bummer. As long as it regulates everything else I guess I am happy!

So I was supposed to start Farrell's Extreme Body shaping tomorrow BUT a couple of things have come up. I'm SO bummed. I really NEEDED to do that. One is my own fault. I mentioned doing my just dance and wii fit stuff, well I had landed wrong a few times doing that and strained my knee. Then, while walking downstairs one day I apparently cant walk correctly and landed funny (I do this all the time) and it hurt bad enough I went to the doctor. They said I should avoid the strenuous exercise so it could relax. damnit. I told them about Farrell's and they could just as well have said yeah right! If this wasn't enough, Paco's work schedule is getting a little more hectic and he is going to be working longer hours and could have to do some stuff that just requires him to be gone. Well I cant afford the Farrell's money AND a babysitter so I had to cancel for this session. I am SO happy and relieved because even though I canceled after the 10 day time frame they tell you cancellation still has a refund included, I got my full amount refunded. Thank goodness. I was really stressy about it there for a couple days.

So... I'm really disappointed but hopefully my knee gets feeling better, Paco's job settles down and we'll have the money for a future session. I WILL participate in this program and succeed gloriously!

Not much else has been going on around here. Lilly mentions uncle "mart" (she cant do the k) often and I know that probably just wrenches at him. He is such a great uncle and loves the Lilly! But who doesn't, right. She's been pretty good lately too. I woke up early a few times this week so unfortunately so did she. Oy. The funny thing about the kid is that she can have very little sleep but be the happiest smiliest little girl and just never get grumpy in that day. Maybe I should wake her up at 6:30 and not have a nap everyday. yeah right!

I haven't a clue what to make for dinner and I'm sure Paco will be hungry when he gets home. He and a friend are out looking at potential sitting shots for pictures at Ellis park. It has potential for some good backdrop and we even have people that want us to take pictures for them in the coming months. Yay! hobby that brings in some cash.

OH MY GOSH I actually totally forgot some exciting news, in my world anyway, that happened this week! I had a tastefully simple party for a friend last Friday and was bummed I didn't get any bookings. BUT on Monday one of the guests called to book because she got her co-workers so excited about it. then today I get a call out of the blue from a woman who saw my website and wanted seasoned salt so she wants to book a party. WOO HOO! She is only a few blocks away which is awesome and that means I am at 2 parties for April and a party for may and my mom will do one sometime when I want her to. Maybe July, it tends to be a slow month and it starts a new quarter. i.e. new quarterly sales quotas to meet. I hope I can get another for May and a couple for June. I know it isn't a super full calendar but shoot, I just need some on the books. Last year SUCKED. I have already sold a 3rd of my totals sales from last year in just 2 months. yeah...

anyway, that was super exciting in my world. and if any of my loyal followers wants to book a party let me know! It can be an online party! Okay, there's my pitch :o)

Knowing me I wont post again for a month, so I'll see ya!

  1. Okay little lady...you don't need a Farrell's class to kick your ass..you need a "Ferrell's" (aka Smith's) class. You just had the spelling wrong, common mistake. :) Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Thanks for the great comment on my blog -- definitely a mental booster for me. I am glad you stop by and read about my running-centered adventures.

I gotta say, the one thing I love about running is that once you start -- your body will start to transform. I am a pretty stocky build...but when I run I tend to take on the leaner runner's build. If you want to work some into your workouts, I can put together some tips/resources for you.

I am going on an 18 mile run today...but 3 years ago I started at 1.2 miles. You gotta start somewhere. :)

  2. Ok, so I dont know how these blogs work, do you get notified when someone comments?
So, well, here's my comment to your blog...
I love them! And I love you, you're such a blessing and a sweetheart! If you want a workout partner or a friend to call, i'm here! I too decided not to do Ferrells, and will be doing the at home workout. I have the Wii Fit Plus and Wii Active so if we could do a x times per week kinda thing, i think that will keep us both motivated (especially since i've never used it since christmas!).
I'm here for you sista' and I too am going to begin running once i start a walking program first (if you are interested in running/jogging (my run is a jog to some), definutly check out the couch to 5K program (c25k), i've done it a few times and is awesome especially with the podcasts and downloads so you dont have to have a treadmill, just a player! It tells you when to run and when to stop, its awesome!
