Okay. so... The yard is still a work in progress. Let me review last weekends events:
Thurs-Sat: I take the axe to the hedge roots and go to town chopping them up. (Fri., I notice that I am starting to break out in little hives on the arms which is, of course, no good. So I take some benadryl and zyr-tec and hope it works.) It didn't work. By Sunday I get the full out scaly rash on my wrists, stomach and neck that make me look diseased. Cant decide what looks worse: looking diseased, or putting LARGE band aids on them and look like I attempted suicide. Went to the doc Monday to get meds again.
okay, back to Saturday... Since I noticed I am probably reacting to something in the yard I leave the hubbs to do all of the work (woo hoo!). I can definitely still help by bringing the yardy closer to him though! So, here is a word of caution. When the thing tells you not to move it with the lid open, you DONT MOVE IT WITH THE LID OPEN! Unfortunately I am too proud and thought going 7 feet would be no problem! I pop it back to get it on the wheels, lift my foot to move, step down.. AND CRASH. I fall full force, all of my weight into the bar of the yardy. I don't fall INSIDE of it.. no no.. I catch myself on that bar WITH MY NECK. It was horrible. I stood up instantly to assess whether or not I could still breathe or if I needed some drastic measures to be taken. With a breath, I figured I was okay and should then go inside to make sure I didn't cut myself and would not start bleeding profusely. I did get cut, but it was very superficial. I definitely bruised my esophagus though and looked like I had been strangled. It took a couple of minutes before I could talk. scary. It healed fine, I was just sore for a few days. Served me right though.
Okay so as if that wasn't enough I decided I was okay enough to still help out. I am like this. When I passed out in 8th grade instead of getting the free pass to go home, I went back to class (yes, major LOSER). Anyway, I was digging up the clothesline so we could move it to the other side of the yard. I start shaking one to get it loose and some wasps come flying out. holy crap. wasps live in clothesline pipes. ugh. No stings, but it put a stop to that. I sprayed it and 5 days later they are still there, and trying to move to other places in the yard.
Later Saturday Paco and the (now ex-neighbor) Josh moved the play set from their yard to ours. YAY, free wooden play set. Lilly loves it. It went up easier than it came down. Now Lilly knows its there though and wants to be in the swing ALL the time. It was tricky to tell her couldn't when it was raining all day Tuesday.
So this weekend I will probably get together with Jessica and get a sample flag made up to use for one of the songs in the fall show. I'm pretty pumped for this! I LOVE flags and will possibly look for some cheap fabric to make a couple of my own just for fun. Then Sunday we have 2 picnics. Both should be a good time!
Hooray for weekends!
